What are we building?

We are renovating the former Westwood Twin Theatre to be the new home for Radiant Life.

Why did we buy a building?

1) This new building will expand the ministry and community options of Radiant Life. 2) We will have the chance to expand our weekend experience and add more services, which will allow us to reach more people with the good news of Christ. 3) We currently pay between $2700-$3500 each month renting the Civic Center. By eliminating this rental fee and with the additional income from leasing the other properties purchased in the deal (three shops located to the east of the theater) our monthly expenditures should be significantly less.

When will we occupy the new facility?

Fall 2017

How much will the new facility cost?

We expect the total purchase and renovation of the building will be $1,700,000.00.

How will we pay for it?

We have set aside $1,050,000 to put toward this project. Those assets have come primarily through the sale of the University Baptist Church property and through giving (beyond the tithe) from our church partners. The balance will be borrowed from a bank and paid off through a combination of donations made through the Capital Stewardship Campaign and funds allotted in the church’s budget.

What is a Capital Stewardship Campaign?

A Capital Stewardship Campaign is a spirit- lead project that seeks pledged donations from members of the congregation to be used in paying for a major construction project; in the case of Radiant Life, it is our new facility.

How much money are we hoping to raise through the Capital Stewardship Campaign?

Our hope is to raise a total of three times our annual budget, which should equate to $650,000.

Will I be pressured to make a pledge?

No. Participation in the campaign and how much you give will be entirely up to where the Holy Spirit leads you. All partners and guests will be given the opportunity to contribute if they choose to do so.

How may I prepare to participate?

Allow God to speak to your heart through prayer. Read Scripture passages that speak about stewardship and giving, such as 1 Corinthians 16:2, Proverbs 11:25, Proverbs 3:5- 9, 2 Corinthians 8:7, Acts 20:35, Luke 6:38, and Psalm 116:12.

How long will my commitment be?

You are asked to make a 3-year commitment.

If I can’t give a large amount, does my pledge really matter?

Absolutely! All pledges matter, regardless of amount, because as we all participate according to our ability. Keep in mind that God multiplies our giving!

When are we expected to give the amount pledged?

Pledge cards will be turned in on Commitment Sunday, January 29, 2017. Pledges will begin to be received the following month.

What forms of contributions will be accepted?

Contributions can be made by cash, check, or through our online giving platform. Other forms of contributions may include the transference of titles to marketable stocks, bonds, real estate, etc.

May I update my commitment after Celebration Sunday?

Yes.
